Furnace Issues? Whether you’re looking to have your furnace inspected as a preventive measure or you’re currently experiencing problems, our qualified and experienced technicians are here to assist you. We understand how important it is to keep your home warm and comfortable, especially during colder months. At Duncan Heating and Air Services, our primary goal is to respond quickly and efficiently to all our customers’ needs. As a homeowner, there are several simple things you can check to help ensure your family remains safe and warm throughout the season:
Make sure you have a working smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector installed in your home, and that the batteries are replaced regularly as recommended by the manufacturer.
Replace your furnace filter regularly. We recommend using a standard pleated filter and changing it every 30 days to maintain optimal airflow and furnace performance.
If your furnace is vented with PVC pipes (typical for 90% efficiency models and above), there is a drain line that leads outside. This drain line, which may be made of either PVC or rubber tubing, removes condensation created during furnace operation. When outdoor temperatures drop below freezing, water inside this line can freeze, blocking proper drainage and causing the furnace to shut down. To resolve this, simply use a hairdryer to gently warm the frozen section of the drain line. Once the ice melts, water will drain properly, and your furnace will resume normal operation.
