-If your furnace is vented with PVC (90% plus) there will be a drain line that goes outside. This drain line can be PVC or rubber tube. 90% plus furnaces create condensation while they run and if the outdoor temperature goes below freezing the water in the line outside can freeze and prevent water from draining from system properly and will stop operation of furnace. Simply use a hairdryer to heat the ice in the line and once the ice thaws the water will drain properly again.
